The southwest area of Albuquerque includes two distinct communities, the South Valley and the Southwest Mesa. The Rio Grande Bosque is river of life through the South Valley. Surrounding the South Valley are many rural areas with tall trees, small farms, and green pastures. You'll see gardens, horses, animals, fruit trees, and an older rural feeling. Large portions of the homes and estates in the South Valley have deep family roots and extend through time for many generations. The South Valley also includes some urban areas as well. Neighborhoods such as Barelas and Atrisco are considered urban parts of the South Valley.
The Southwest Mesa is on the plateau South of Central Ave and West of the South Valley. This area of Albuquerque is rapidly growing and you will find many newer subdivisions and many new home options. As land is plentiful in the Southwest, it is a great place for growth as well as, options for luxury homes and estates.
